Body Composition Testing

What Is an InBody 570 Scan?

The InBody Scan is a non-invasive, bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) device used to measure body composition. Unlike a standard scale, which only tells you your weight, the InBody machine breaks down your body into key components, including:

  • Muscle mass

  • Body fat percentage

  • Visceral fat level (the fat surrounding your organs)- This is the fat that most increases your risk of chronic disease.

  • Water distribution (intracellular and extracellular water)

  • Segmental analysis (muscle and fat distribution in each limb and your trunk)

It provides a detailed printout or digital report within minutes, helping you understand your body like never before and also allows you to track your progress over time.

Unlocking Your Health

What the InBody Scan Machine Can Reveal About Your Body

In the quest for better health and fitness, many of us turn to the mirror, a bathroom scale, or maybe a tape measure to gauge our progress. But what if you could go deeper—beyond weight and waist size—to understand exactly what’s going on inside your body? That’s where the InBody Scan Machine comes in.

This cutting-edge body composition analyzer gives you a comprehensive look at your physical makeup, empowering you with data to make smarter health decisions. Let’s break down what it is, how it works, and why you might want to give it a try.

What Is an InBody Scan?

How Does It Work?

The InBody device sends a safe, low-level electrical current through your body. Since water, fat, and muscle all conduct electricity differently, the machine can determine what proportion of your weight is made up of each component.

Don't worry—you won’t feel a thing. The process is quick (usually under 60 seconds) and completely painless. All you need to do is stand on the platform, hold the handles, and stay still while the scan is conducted.

Why Use an InBody Scan?

Here are a few reasons people choose to incorporate regular InBody scans into their wellness routine:

1.   Track Real Progress

If you’ve ever felt discouraged because the scale isn’t budging, a body composition scan might reveal that you’re actually building muscle and losing fat—something a regular scale can’t tell you.

2.   Personalize Your Fitness Plan

Knowing your lean muscle mass and fat distribution can help you tailor your workouts. For example, if your legs are stronger than your arms, you might shift your focus to upper body strength training.

3.    Monitor Health Risks

High visceral fat is linked to increased risk of chronic illnesses like heart disease and type 2 diabetes. By tracking this data, you can catch early warning signs and make proactive lifestyle changes.

4.   Optimize Hydration and Recovery

InBody scans also measure body water balance. This is especially useful for athletes and anyone managing conditions like lymphedema or inflammation.

Who Should Use It?

  • People on weight loss journeys wanting to understand fat loss vs. muscle loss

  • Healthcare professionals looking to assess patient risk factors

  • Athletes monitoring training effectiveness

  • Anyone curious about their health beyond the scale

What to Know Before Your Scan

  • Avoid eating or drinking 2-3 hours before the scan.

  • Don’t exercise right before.

  • Wear light, comfortable clothing (and remove shoes and socks).

  • Hydrate consistently in the days leading up to the test.

The InBody Scan is a powerful tool that gives you real insights into your body’s inner workings. Whether you’re chasing a fitness goal, trying to improve your health, or simply curious, an InBody scan offers clarity in a world full of confusing health metrics.
